BoardFlight

How your testers install

What to send a tester, what they are asked to do with it, and what comes back to you.

For creators. All guides

What you send

A redeem link, or nothing at all. Add a tester by the email they signed up with and the game is in their My Games. For anybody else, make a redeem code on the channel’s Access tab and paste its link (boardflight.app/redeem/…) into a chat. The link shows them the game before it asks for anything, signs them up, and ends on Install.

What a tester does

With BoardFlight on their computer. They get the app from boardflight.app/get, sign in and pair their Board, once. After that Install on your game’s page puts your newest build on their Board in one press, and Update gets them the next one. Unless they switch off automatic updates for their Board, a web build arrives by itself while BoardFlight is running. The set-up, step by step

The next build

A tester with BoardFlight on their computer sees Update available on your game and presses Update, or gets a web build by itself with automatic updates on.

Your game can say so itself. With Update notice on for the channel, a running game shows a card when a newer build lands. Show your version and offer updates

What you see of it

An install that BoardFlight on a tester’s computer does is recorded: the channel’s Activity lists it with the tester’s username and the build, and with the Board’s own message when a Board refuses one.

With play sessions on, the channel’s Activity shows how much each build is played. With the feedback button on, each report arrives with the build it came from.

Try it as a tester first

Issue yourself a redeem code and open its link in a private window. That is what lands in your tester’s hands.
