Install from your phone
Once BoardFlight on your computer has paired your Board, you can choose games from anywhere. Your computer does the installing.
What you need
BoardFlight on your computer, with your Board paired. Set up BoardFlight gets you there. On your phone you need only a browser. Nothing is installed on it, and it does not have to be on the same network as your Board.
Sign in on your phone
Open boardflight.app on your phone and sign in to the same account you use in BoardFlight on your computer.
Press Install on a game
Open a game’s page and press Install. Your phone does not install anything: it leaves a request on your account for BoardFlight on your computer.
Read what the page says
It tells you which of two things happens next.
- BoardFlight is running on your computer. It picks the game up within about half a minute, and the page shows the install as it goes.
- It is not running. The page says the game is queued, and that it will install the next time BoardFlight is open on your computer.
What “the next time BoardFlight is open” means
Only BoardFlight on your computer can reach your Board, and only while it is running. “Open” means running: its window is open, or you chose Keep BoardFlight running and it is sitting in the menu bar or the system tray.
For the install to happen, that computer has to be on and on the same network as your Board, and your Board has to be switched on.
A queued game waits for seven days. If BoardFlight has not been open by then, the game’s page says the request was never picked up, and you press Install again. While a game is still queued, you can cancel it on its page.
What a phone cannot do
Pair a Board. Pairing is done in BoardFlight on your computer, which has to be on the Board’s network.
